CORAL:
- It is Illegal for any person to take, buy, sell or have in his possession any type of coral.
- An exception is made in the case of Black Coral (Order ANTIPATHARIA) which may only be bought, sold or exported with a licence from the Fisheries Administrator.
BONEFISH:
- (Albulba vulpes) locally known as MACABI - NO person should buy, sell, any Bone Fish.
SHRIMP:
- (Trawling) Closed Season: April 15th to August 14th, inclusive of any year.
CONCH:
(Strombus gigas)
- Shell length should exceed 7 inches.
- Market clean weight should exceed 3 ounces.
- Closed season is from July 1st to September 30th.
LOBSTER
(Panulirus argus)
- Minimum cape length is 3 inches.
- Minimum tail weight is 4 ounces.
- Closed season is from February 15th to June 14th.
TURTLE
- No person should interfere with any turtle nest or take any turtle found on land. Strict regulations are made for the protection of HAWKSBILL TURTLE (Eretmochelys imbricata) and it is illegal to fish, sell, purchase, or have this type of turtle.
HICATEE
-(Dermantemys mawii)
-No person shall:
- Have in his possession more than three, or transport on any vehicle five such turtles.
- Fish for female HICATEE THAN ARE GREATER THAN 43cm (17.2 inches or SMALLER THAN 38cm (15.2 inches).
- Closed season: 1st May to 31st May, inclusive in any year.
MARINE TURTLES
Closed season: 1st April to 31st October, inclusive of any year.
Turtles of the following description should not be disturbed:
- Green turtle (Chelonia midas), greater than 60 cm (24 inches) curved carapace length.
- Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), greater than 60 cm (24 inches) curved carapace length.
- No person shall buy, sell, or have in his possession any articles made of turtle shell.
